Album Premiere: Blue, The Misfit – “Child In The Wild”

Blue, The Misfit

Dallas, TX may not be known for it’s hip-hop/rap scene. Too often is it overshadowed by the Houston rap scene (Bun B/UGK, Zero, Trae the Truth, etc…) but that isn’t to say that there aren’t some really talented acts you’ve never heard to be coming out of the big D.

Enter Blue, The Misfit. He’s a young producer-turned-rapper who’s already made somewhat of an impression on some of the biggest names in hip-hop today. He’s just released his debut album which is streaming via Red Bull. In addition to Blue showing off his own skills, it gives other Dallas acts A.Dd+, Snow tha Product, and relative newcomer Sam Lao a chance to show their stuff (side note, if you haven’t heard last year’s “DiveHiFlyLo: Every Man Is King” mixtape from A.Dd+, I highly recommend clicking on the link there).

My friend Mikel also wrote a review of the album here that’s worth checking out.

Run the Jewels – “Sea Legs (Dave Sitek Remix)”

One of the best hip-hop releases of the year is getting an extended edition with 1 new track, 2 remixes, and instrumentals of all 3. Listen below to the remix of standout track “Sea Legs” from TV on the Radio’s Dave Sitek.
